Renovation City!!
8-12-02 I have been a very bad blogger! James and I just bought our first place on May 25th!! We couldn't be happier! It's a 3 bed, 2 1/2 bath townhouse. It also has an unfinished basement. (hopefully we can get to that soon.) Two weeks after we moved in James had to leave for a month for military training! Hated that!!! The morning he left the RENOVATIONS began! (is it still called renovations when the house is brand new??) We started with the floors. The carpet is beautiful but they put it in the dining room too! Now, I'm sure there are some of you that are ok with that, but I'm not one of them. Have you ever tried to clean food out of carpet? Personally I think it's moronic! Thanks to my sister Brandy and my niece McKenzie we pulled up all the carpet on the main floor and put down great plank flooring. We thought it would be a day job but it turned into 3! But we are very happy with the end result. Next we moved on to painting. The whole entire house was painted the same grayish tan color. And I mean everything, every door, baseboard, wall and ceiling. And it's not a good tan color it's depressing. But thanks to my "helpers", who have taken to calling me "the nazi", all the painting is done on the first floor and some of the upstairs. We also put up chair rail throughout the downstairs. I'm obsessed with moulding!! And power tools!! We did this all while James was gone. He didn't even recognized the house when he got home. As you'll see from the pictures Gabriel even got in on the action! That wasn't always a good thing. I'll put up some before and after pics.
